About JIm Allen

I’ve been working in the mortgage industry since 1999 when I opened Allen Funding in Old Orchard Beach Maine. Over the past 20+ years, it’s rarely been the same from day to day. I appreciate the challenge of stepping outside the box and finding a way to make it work. It’s a rewarding feeling to help clients meet their goals. The mortgage industry has also allowed me to support my family while providing me the flexibility to be active in my community. I am married with 5 children and 2 active grandsons. I strive to show them the difference acts of kindness can make thru my actions and work. My “why” statement above is the lens I view my actions thru every day. I truly believe that acts of kindness create a ripple effect with positive outcomes. My “why” led me to Youthfull Maine.

In 2019, my son Chase and I helped found Youthfull Maine, a 501c3 Non Profit created to combat food insecurity in children. We are focused in York County Maine and have grown from 1 food pantry in 1 school, to food pantries in almost every school in York County. We have collaborated with schools in York County to create, maintain and ensure food pantries are available and stocked for those in need. We’ve even grown to be able to hold 2 food giveaways each week for families and distribute more food than any other pantry in York County. I am lucky enough to act as President of the organization.

Working in this industry has allowed me to affect real change in people’s lives on a daily basis, whether it be finding the right solution for their mortgage lending needs, helping them get into their forever home, grow their wealth through real estate or even helping them refinance so they can conquer some of their own goals. Due to the nature of mortgage lending and being a 7 day a week gig, it allows me to work on my goals on a random weekday if needed.
